Advanced Level Exams
The Advanced Level examination consists of 3 parts:
1) Practical Exam: demonstration of the requisite A.R.T.® and MFT skills
2) Multiple Choice paper
3) Client Case Studies
Students need to pass all 3 parts of the exam to achieve A.R.T.® Advanced Level certification.
The practical exam takes place in person.
The multiple-choice paper and the case studies must be completed on the exam platform, to which you will have access for one month from the date of your practical exam.
Successful completion of the Advanced Level exam marks the next step in your professional journey, giving you access to the APN Programme and the opportunity to become a Master A.R.T.® Practitioner.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will also gain access to our specialist Masterclasses, with the option to join the exclusive A.R.T.® Global Professionals community and be featured on our website as a recognised Advanced Practitioner of A.R.T.®.

Note that this confirms that you have displayed the required competence and knowledge in the Advanced level A.R.T.® skills. It is not a licence to practise beyond the scope of the practitioner’s other qualifications. The Advanced Level Examination needs to be successfully completed in order to gain full A.R.T.® certification.
Successful completion of the Advanced Level exam does not qualify you to teach Autonomic Response Testing in any form or claim A.R.T.® certification.
Part 1: Practical Exam
Duration: max 90 minutes
The Practical exams will be carried out in person at the Klinghardt Institute. You will be assessed by 2 members of the A.R.T.® Global and Klinghardt Institute Teaching team.
Outside the UK: in some countries, there will be the opportunity to take the practical exam in person before or after workshop events. Contact info@klinghardtinstitute.com to find out if in-person exams are available in your country.
Overview of the Practical Exam:
You will be asked to carry out a complete A.R.T.® examination.
You should be able to demonstrate the skills and competencies listed below. During the exam, the examiners may ask you to demonstrate any of these skills and techniques and will ask questions to ensure your understanding.
- Muscle testing technique – The different forms of A.R.T.® muscle testing; straight arm testing, patient standing, sitting and lying down. Demonstrate the correct ergonomic body position that ensures testing is accurate and reduces fatigue or muscle strain on the practitioner and the indirect person. Calibration.
- SE and Pol-filter – The correct positioning of the Signal Enhancers and Pol- Filter. Position and use of the polfilter for organ and tissue testing. Use of the opening angle. Where and when to use more than one Signal Enhancer.
- Opening regulation with the 7 factors – How to use the 7 Factors and finger acupressure points to open regulation. How we can quantify the body’s biophoton field as well as determine the best remedies the body needs by using the opening angle.
- Switching – Demonstrate how to test for neurogenic switching and the basic and advanced switching points. What they mean, how to resolve them with tapping points or other interventions and remedies.
- MFT Tapping Points – Demonstrate the MFT Tapping Sequence. Know which tapping points relate to which organs. How we use tapping points to treat organs and the correct way to tap using a waltz rhythm and for 33 secs.
- Organ Scan – Demonstrate the A.R.T. Body and Organ Scan (on the 3 layers). Explain what we may find at each of these layers and demonstrate how we apply knowledge of the 5 Levels and 7 Factors to treat. How to select remedies and intervention based on what was found at each layer.
- Priority Organ – How to determine the priority.
- Understanding Different Arm ‘States’ – Demonstrating the Yin Mudra, Yang O-ring test and Allergy test (vagus nerve) and what each means in our A.R.T.® exam. Show how to get people out of a deep Yin or Yang state.
- Concave Mirror – Using the mirror as a biofeedback instrument when doing an organ scan.
- O-Ring – How to calibrate a person before using Professor’s Omura’s Bi-Digital O-Ring Test (BDORT) and how to use it as a standalone method for testing allergies, food and supplement testing. How to quantify how good or bad a substance is for the patient (-4 to +4).
- Direct Resonance – Demonstrate Direct Resonance to test all the organs for underlying issues (toxins – mercury, aluminium, glyphosate and infections using Lyme slides and CDs).
- Dose Testing and Drug Uptake – How to dose test a remedy. How to use Direct Resonance to show that the remedy given will actually arrive in sufficient concentration to the targeted organs or areas of the body.
- Dental Exam – Perform a non-invasive dental exam. Bite height/occlusion test, Romberg test, Jaw position. Individual tooth and extraction site testing for possible cavitations, direct resonance of teeth and jaw for infections (e.g. Bartonella) and toxicity. Two pointing/ Couvert two Pointing/ Double Couvert two pointing dental issues to other symptomatic areas of the body.
- Geopathic Stress and Electro-hypersensitivity/ Pineal Gland function – how to test for each and what to prescribe.
- Find primary issues amongst all 7 Factors (except APN) that open regulation, and then find which is the top priority.
- Stacking Method – to be able to use stacking up to 3 SEs to clear priorities.
- Opening Angle – to be able to correct and refine the opening angle.
- To find the underlying cause of Switching Tests and resolve them.
- To include Mental Switching.
- Organ Scan on the skin level, at 30cm and 80cm – to go deeper into diagnosis to find priority cause of issue and resolve with the best combinations of interventions.
- Use of Advanced Synergy Testing as issues arise in the Flow.
- Inclusion of Brain Points, right/left frontal deficit, pituitary, pineal hippocampus, hypothalamus.
- Neuro-lymphatic points for kidneys and adrenals.
- Correct use of the Antenna and UV Mirror.
- Deep Organ Scan testing for the gut, liver, lungs, heart, thyroid and brain.
- Couvert and Double-Couvert 2-pointing (e.g. do the tonsils affect any other organs?).
- Dental: including check for cavitations.
- Use of Structural Mudra.
- Checking for Depleting Energies/Beneficial Energies and addressing as appropriate.
- Checking and correcting Limiting Beliefs.
- Checking for Uptake Issues and finding the root of that.
- Address the Key Issues that the Patient came in with.
- Knowledge of the Remedies and how they are taken.
- Understanding of Potential Drug-Herb Interactions.
- Explaining the findings back to the patient in an appropriate way and connecting to their priority concerns.
For Practical exams, a therapy table, patient and arm will be provided.
You need to bring your own Test Kit folder and A.R.T.® tools.
Part 2: Multiple Choice Assessment
This is to be completed within 1 month of successfully passing the Practical part of the examination.
You will have a 1-week window within which to sit the exam.
