Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME): Background and treatment results based on study result” – Download the slides

Dr. Straube, Medical Head of INUS Medical Center AG / Cham, Germany, will present the results of 928 Cerebropheresis® procedures performed on clients with the indication: “Myalgic Encephalomyelitis” and the clinical syndrome “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, CFS”. He will present the significant results, the role of neurotransmitter receptors, various antibodies, M3 and M4 receptors, plus pathological, inflammatory and circulating immune complexes. Dr. Straube will also describe the importance of environmental toxins and genetic polymorphisms. Cerebropheresis® has been used as a successful therapy with astonishing results.

Introduction to immunodiagnostics and silent inflammation in ME/CFS” – Download the slides

Today we are increasingly exposed to damaging environmental influences, whether toxic heavy metals, biocides, industrial poisons, plastics, electromagnetic fields or pathogens. Our immune system needs to react to this, either with attack or tolerance. This can lead to a stress reaction in the body with silent inflammation and oxidative stress. This can damage our mitochondria and lead to a decrease in the consumption of micronutrients and loss of energy. But it can also lead to a loss of our immune tolerance as well as autoimmune disease. Research has found evidence that ME/CFS could be autoimmune mediated, with increased antibodies against ß2 adrenergic receptors. Elevated laboratory markers for this (e.g., TNFα, Interferon γ, histamine, ATP, nitrotyrosine, MDA-LDL) can be an indirect indication of silent inflammation and a multi-system disease.

In addition to the search for causes and their treatment, such as eliminating damaging environmental influences, detoxification and addressing pathogens, there are also many therapeutic options. These range from immunosuppressive therapies using e.g. Rituximab and immunoadsorption to natural products, herbs and nutraceuticals to support our immune system and treat the silent inflammation.

Mitochondria in MEDownload the slides

Dr. Sarah Myhill, MB BS is an independent British medical doctor running her own specialist M.E. clinic, and creator of the Medical Abuse in ME Sufferers (MAIMES) petition. Dr. Myhill has treated in excess of 10,000 CFS/ME sufferers over her 30-year career and has published multiple studies.

Mitochondria are responsible for delivering energy to all cells.  When mitochondria malfunction, energy delivery is slow and this explains so many symptoms and pathologies. Indeed it is difficult to think of a disease that does not involve or impact on mitochondria. They are central to the management of fatigue syndromes, cancer, dementia, arterial disease and much more. She will detail the common reasons why mitochondria go slow and the simple interventions that are available to all and of proven efficacy.
